Current collaborations
·
Larry A. Donoso, M.D., Ph.D.
(Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, PA), they have an ongoing genetic study
to isolate the gene in an extensive 50 member pedigree with a dominant
form of macula degeneration that is distinct from the ABCR gene (Stargardt’s
Disease). · Marion Maw, Ph.D. (University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand), they are studying the protein partners of a gene (prominin) responsible for human retinal degeneration (Maw et al., Human Molecular Gen., 2000, Vol. 9: 27-34). Using a retina specific library and a yeast two hybrid system, we have just identified a new membrane partner for the prominin. |
